Everglades National Park is one of the 59 National American Parks overseen by the National Park Service, and it is the third largest national park of the United States.

Everglades is a wide flooded area, in South Florida, and it measures about 1.5 million of acres. It is a wild and expansive land that has become biosphere reserve in 1976 and is on the list of UNESCO Worlds Heritage Site from 1979, even if, from 1993, the park is classified as natural site in danger because of the several winds and tornadoes.

Since the extent of this wilderness area, tourists better plan their trip to visit the park. There are four different main entrances, one very distant from each other.

The North entrances are Shark Valley close to Miami and Gulf Coast near Everglades City. In the South, the entrances are along the Main Park road in Homestead and they are Royal Palm and Flamingo.

The ecosystem of the park is widely various. It is the habitat of a rich vegetation and many local species.

Live oaks, wild lemon and orange trees, custards apple, pawpaw, rubber trees, cucumbers, mangroves and more plants are easy to find here. Waterfowl, storks, flamingos, hawks, vulture, alligator, manatees will be your travelling companions.

Here in Florida, in Everglades National Parks there is no way to use your car. It is all about experiencing the natural life and being in harmony with the essentiality of our beautiful planet Earth.
